Christine Lewis

 ~ Co-Founder

Christine grew up in the Southeastern United States with her two parents, older sister and younger brother. She first  developed her love for Uganda when she visited there in 2014.  She served on a medical mission team, and it was through that trip that she developed life-long friendships and fell in love with the people of Uganda and the work that God was doing there.  It was through another trip in 2018 when Christine felt the Lord calling her to serve Him and His people in southwest Uganda.   She partnered with Gideon and the Ladies of Hope to formalize and expand J.O.E Ministries in 2019.  She has a Master's Degree in Nursing and is a Board Certified Family Nurse Practitioner.  She has a heart for creating disciples and sharing the love of Christ in practical ways to empower others.

Ladies of Hope

~ Ministry Partners

Ladies of Hope is a women's group that was formed in 2012 in the slums of Mbarara.  They saw the needs around them and responded in love and sacrificial giving.  What started with just a few ladies has now grown to include a couple dozen due to sharing the love and hope they found in Christ with other desperate and hurting women in the community. Their major goal is to restore the hope lost by women and families.  L.O.H teach the Word of God as well as skills that can be used to generate income in order to empower the women around them.
